KidBrief is an early education publication in English and Spanish. It’s for families, and also for the teachers and directors who run programs. Our guides cover what care costs and how to pay for it, how to choose a program and how young children learn and grow. In addition, we cover inclusive care for children with developmental differences, plus the classroom, career, policy and business news educators need.
What we cover
- Costs & aid: what care costs and every way to pay less
- Choosing care: how to find, compare and check programs
- Learning & development: talking, reading, behavior and kindergarten readiness
- Inclusive care: children with autism, speech delays and other developmental differences
- Teaching: classroom practice, behavior and wellbeing for educators
- Careers & certification: EEC certification, the CDA and pay
- Director’s desk: policy, licensing, staffing and the business of running a program
Who publishes us
Disclosure: Treehouse Learning Center, a childcare provider with programs in Massachusetts, publishes KidBrief. Our directory, when it launches, will list every licensed program, not just ours. Treehouse programs always carry a label, and we never rank Treehouse first in a comparison.
How we are funded
Our guides are free. To pay for them, we use clearly labeled affiliate links. Later, we may add labeled sponsorships, referral partnerships with childcare providers and job listings, and Treehouse Learning Center covers the rest. Sponsored content will always say “Sponsored,” and Treehouse job openings always show they come from our publisher. Above all, sponsors, partners and advertisers never decide what we cover or how we list programs. For the full details, see How we make money.
Editorial standards
- Every number links to its source and shows the date we checked it.
- Before a guide goes live, a person reviews it.
- In addition, a fluent Spanish speaker checks every Spanish version.
- When we get something wrong, we fix it and note the correction at the top of the page.
Contact
Tips, corrections and partnership questions: reach us through our publisher’s contact form. Spotted a mistake in a guide? Tell us and we’ll fix it and note the change.
How we review our guides
Each guide cites its sources and shows when it was last checked. Our goal is for a person to review every guide before it is published. If you see something out of date or wrong, email [email protected] and we will look at it.
